Op. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Korkmaz, born in Elazığ in 1985, started his medical education at Elazığ Fırat University Faculty of Medicine in 2002 and graduated in 2008. From 2008 onwards, he served as a physician and hospital administrator, chief physician, and general manager in the cities of Muş, Elazığ, Kars, and Batman. He worked at the General Surgery Clinics of Kars Kafkas University and Elazığ Fırat University Faculty of Medicine since 2013. He completed his mandatory service in the province of Bingöl in 2018.
Dr. Korkmaz has been specializing in obesity and diabetes surgery for over 8 years. Working at Elazığ University, which has the highest case volume in Turkey, Korkmaz has performed over 8,600 bariatric surgeries to date, accumulating over 8,000 cases of experience including his training period.
Since 2020, he has been working at his own Obesity Surgery Clinic in Özel Hürrem Sultan Hospital in Üsküdar and also serves as the Chief Physician of the hospital.
